View From Angel Island

Sea Valor welcomes anyone affected by PTSD aboard s/v VALOR for a four-five hour sail around the San Francisco Bay. Whether you have PTSD or are a trauma survivor yourself, or a friend or family member wanting to show your support, we welcome you for an unforgettable experience surrounded by kind and caring people.

We will depart Emeryville marina at noon (12pm), pass the historic Berkeley Pier, and head towards Angel Island. We will dock at Angel island and spend approximately 1 hour there. People are encouraged to hike up the hill to check out the breathtaking views.

s/v Valor under Golden Gate Bridge

After departing Angel Island, we will head west towards the Golden Gate Bridge. Conditions permitting, we will sail underneath the Golden Gate bridge and towards Point Bonita Lighthouse. We have seen whales, sea lions, seals, and dolphins out there, so keep your eyes open. After we reach the lighthouse, we will turn around and sail back under the Golden Gate bridge. We will pass Fort PointCrissy Field, the Palace of the Fine Arts, and Ghiradelli Square, before reaching Alcatraz Island

s/v Valor Passing Alcatraz Island

Once at Alcatraz, we will sail as close as safely possible so guests can see the former military installations, prison, and wildlife. We will then head back towards San Francisco where we will sail next to the US Submarine Pampanito. We will then continue along Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39The Embarcadaro, and the San Francisco Ferry Building. We will then head east and go underneath the western span of the Bay Bridge, around Yerba Buena Island, and underneath the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge where we will look for the elusive bridge troll statue. From there we will head past Treasure island, through the moored barge field, and back to Emeryville marina (unless people are having such a good time that they want to keep going, in which case we will head west and make the two-week sail to Hawaii).
