July 5, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Sea Valor’s, Sunday “Sail the Bay for PTSD”. Veterans, Firefighters, Underprivileged Kids, Health Care Workers, and Law Enforcement always sail for free!

Sunday, July 5 at 2pm. aboard s/v VALOR

Join us for our weekly Sunday sail. We depart Emeryville marina precisely a 2 pm, and spend approximately four hours sailing around the San Francisco Bay.

Sailing the Bay with Sea Valor

Our flagship vessel, s/v VALOR, is a 56 foot sailing vessel designed with the utmost safety and comfort in mind. She was custom built for one of the owners of the Hans Christian Boat Company, to be safe, fast, and capable of crossing all of the world’s oceans.

What to expect.

Typically we will head out of the marina, raise the sails, and head towards Angel island. If the weather is nice, we will spend up to an hour anchored a few yards from one of the many beautiful coves or beaches on the island. During this time, people can eat, drink, swim, meditate, observe otters, seals and sea lions, and meet new friends.

After pulling up the anchor, we usually head NW and continue around Angel Island. If the conditions are favorable, and everyone is comfortable, we then head towards the Golden Gate bridge. This segment provides incredible views, and a good opportunity to spot whales. Once we reach the Golden Gate Bridge, we will spend a few minutes underneath it so people can get photos and gaze at its beauty. We then continue west, and depending on the conditions, will head out to lands end and Point Bonita light house.

After turning around, we will head back under the Golden Gate, around Alcatraz where we will get so close you can see the abandoned buildings and smell the stench of the bird colonies. Then we will head towards San Francisco where we will pass a docked submarine. We will continue south along the San Francisco waterfront, pier 39, and the Embarcadero. Then we will turn east and head under the western span of the Bay Bridge, around Yerba Buena island, under the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge, past Treasure Island, and back to the marina.

Typically this will take approximately 4-5 hours.

What to bring

Warm clothes, including a change of clothes if you get splashed. Whatever snacks or drinks you would like.
